South Carolina ESTF tutoring for Grand Strand families

Horry County works differently from most of the state's metro areas: one countywide district, Horry County Schools, serves communities from Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach along the coast to Conway, Aynor, and Loris inland. That geography is the point — the county is large, and a family in Loris or Aynor is a real drive from anything clustered near the beach. For ESTF purposes the single district simplifies one question: eligibility requires that the student not attend their resident public school full-time, and in Horry County that resident school is an Horry County Schools campus. Everything after that decision is statewide and identical.

Conway is also a college town — Coastal Carolina University sits there — but specialized help for a child with dyslexia, ADHD, or a processing difference has never been guaranteed to exist within driving distance of any particular stretch of the Strand, and the region's seasonal traffic makes a standing cross-town appointment harder than it looks on a calendar. An online model closes that gap: the same teacher certified in special education is one login away whether you live in a Carolina Forest subdivision, an oceanfront condo, or a farmhouse outside Aynor. The Grand Strand also has an active home education community, and the ESTF has a specific, often-misunderstood rule there — Option 1-3 homeschool association members are not eligible, but educating at home on the ESTF outside those options is allowed, because the signed program agreement itself satisfies compulsory attendance.
